Best Online GST Calculator (India)
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax used in India on the supply of goods and services. Whether you are a business owner creating an invoice, a freelancer determining your final bill, or a consumer checking product pricing, our GST Calculator makes the mathematics effortless.
Instead of manually calculating percentages and splitting them into CGST (Central) and SGST (State), this tool handles everything in real-time. It accurately supports the standard Indian tax slabs: 3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%.
Why I Built This Tool: A Freelancer's Insight
As a freelancer, generating client invoices used to be incredibly frustrating. If a client had a strict budget of ₹10,000, I had to manually reverse-calculate to figure out what base price plus 18% GST would equal exactly ₹10,000. It involved confusing division math that often led to decimal errors. I built this tool for NaviWebTools to specifically solve the "Inclusive vs Exclusive" problem. Now, you can just click "Remove GST," type the total budget, and get the exact base price and tax split instantly.
How to calculate GST easily?
- 1Enter Initial Amount
Input the base price of your product or service in the amount field.
- 2Select the Tax Slab
Click on the applicable percentage (e.g., 18% is common for most digital services and electronics).
- 3Choose Add or Remove
Select "Add GST" if the tax is extra, or "Remove GST" if the initial amount already includes the tax. Click Calculate to see the breakdown.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the difference between Add GST and Remove GST?
Add GST (Exclusive) means your base amount does not have tax yet, so the tax will be calculated and added on top. Remove GST (Inclusive) means your amount already contains the tax, and the tool will reverse-calculate to find the original base price.
How are CGST and SGST calculated?
For sales within the same state (Intrastate), the total GST is split equally into two halves: CGST (Central) and SGST (State). For example, an 18% GST becomes 9% CGST and 9% SGST.
